Fresh Whole Garlic from Vietnam
Specifications:
- Types:
- White garlic (white skin, small cloves, strong spiciness).
- Solo garlic (single-clove bulb, round shape, intense flavor).
- Black garlic (naturally fermented, less common in fresh form).
- Quality: Clean, dry, firm bulbs, intact skin, no sprouting, no rot, no pests/diseases, no pesticide residues; graded by size S (3-4cm), M (4-5.5cm), L (>5.5cm).
Forms: Fresh whole bulbs (roots trimmed, bulbs intact), naturally dried, frozen whole bulbs or peeled cloves.
Production:
- Mainly grown in northern provinces (Bắc Giang, Kinh Môn - Hải Dương, Lý Nhân - Hà Nam, Vĩnh Tường - Vĩnh Phúc), partly in central Vietnam (Quảng Nam, Quảng Ngãi).
- Harvested mainly in May–June each year (main season), after 5–6 months; naturally sun-dried for 7–10 days, roots and stems trimmed, sorted manually or mechanically.
Uses (Culinary & Medicinal):
- Culinary: Flavor enhancer, removes fishy odor, used in dipping sauces, chili-garlic salt.
- Medicinal: Rich in allicin and sulfur compounds; antibacterial, boosts immunity, lowers cholesterol, stabilizes blood pressure, supports cardiovascular health, antioxidant, prevents colds.
