Corn powder (corn flour/maize flour) is a product processed from corn kernels through fine grinding (corn flour) or starch extraction (corn starch), retaining its nutritional value while being convenient for storage and widespread use.

Origins of Vietnamese Corn

Corn in Vietnam is widely grown across regions with high yields thanks to the tropical climate:

• Central Highlands (Dak Lak, Gia Lai): Large planting areas, high productivity.
• Northern mountainous provinces (Son La, Yen Bai, Lao Cai): Highland glutinous corn of good quality.
• Mekong Delta and Central regions: Suitable for industrial production.

Production Process

1. Harvesting and cleaning high-quality fresh corn kernels.
2. Soaking (for starch), coarse grinding, and removing impurities.
3. Separating starch/gluten/germ (wet or dry milling method).
4. Drying at controlled temperatures to 8-12% moisture.
5. Fine grinding and sieving.
6. Immediate packaging to prevent moisture.

Packaging

• Standard: 25kg kraft/PP/PE bags with inner lining or 5-10kg aluminum bags (suitable for bulk export).
• Customized: Stand-up pouches with branding, cartons, plastic jars, vacuum bags – tailored to customer requirements.
